Tell us about the images we are featuring?

These are a part of a year long series of images. I like to play with juxtaposition and I guess the expected and the unexpected. I try to make quite playful images, bright images that have a bit of a sinister edge to them.

What are you working on right now?

I am in the process of creating something very exciting with JPlus Hotel by Yoo in Hong Kong. We are only releasing teasers at the moment but it’s something that I cannot wait to share with everyone! (stay posted)

What does the future hold for your work?

I am kind of in the process of changing how I develop works…I guess being more purposeful(?) in how I develop images. I don’t know if that’s the right word, but the works I have produced so far…I kinda see them as a part of a huge body of work. And as I upload them to my social media, it’s like a live development. So this year I want to move back to being more conceptual, creating series of works that are more connected that explore a specific concept rather than a random mass of images.

Do your parents like your work?

My parents are by far my biggest fans and for that I am ever appreciative!

How do you determine if a work has been a success?

It’s a funny thing and is definitely something I have given a lot of thought to – especially with releasing the majority of my work on social media. I mean, it’s so easy to be sucked into the idea that works are only a success if you gain a lot of likes or attention for them. But I think if you go with that idea, you end up producing works that try too hard. Well, I know when I have fallen into that my images feel needy and I think it shows. So I guess to counter that I come back to the idea of – do I like it? Do I have some kind of response or connection to it or does it trigger something in me? And i think for me, that is enough because I mean, art is an expression and if I can create an expression that is genuine to me, than I think (i hope) that will translate.
